Characterised by a positive business atmosphere, the three international consumer-goods fairs, Paperworld, Christmasworld and Beautyworld, at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre closed their doors on Sunday. Over the previous five days, 100,000 trade visitors from all over the world placed orders with the 3,657 international exhibitors of paper, office supplies and stationery, festive decorations and fragrances, cosmetics and beauty accessories. "The economic upswing was noticeable in all exhibition halls. The trade was in the mood for placing orders. The indications for the business year, 2008, to be seen at our events are good", says Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. According to Bernd Feindor, Marketing Manager of traditional Christmastree decorations manufacturer, Krebs Glas Lauscha, on Thursday, the company noted the largest volume of orders since it has been exhibiting at Christmasworld. This year, Krebs Glas Lauscha showed a gold Christmas bauble decorated with 120 diamonds.
The number of visitors to Paperworld remained constant while Christmasworld continued to expand in 2008, too. Despite having been shortened by two days, Beautyworld attracted a similar number of visitors to last year. "On the visitor side, all three fairs continued to develop in the same way as in recent years", added Michael Peters. "Visitors are becoming more professional and distinguished by a rising level of expertise and decision-making authority."
As in previous years, the fairs registered a slight increase in the proportion of visitors from outside Germany. In 2008, two thirds of all visitors came from abroad. Thus, the three consumer-goods fairs rank among the most international of all trade fairs held in Germany.
